Upgrade VSAN 6.6 to 6.7 Update 1

Steps to upgrade VSAN 6.6 to 6.7 Update 1

  1. Upgrade vCenter 6.5 to 6.7 Update 1
  2. Upgrade 3 x ESXi 6.5 U2 Hosts to 6.7 U1 with Update Manager
  3. Upgrade VSAN Disks from version 5 to version 7

Upgrade VSAN Disks from version 5 to version 7

  1. Download the latest ESXi 6.7 Update 1 ISO file and login to VCSA 6.7U1
  2. Click Menu – Update Manager – ESXi Image – Import and upload the ESXi 6.7 ISO file

  1. Create a New Baseline called Upgrade to ESXi 6.7U1 by selecting the ESXi 6.7 Image that we uploaded

  1. Click on Cluster – Update – Host Update and Attach the Baseline called Updagrade to ESXi 6.7

  1. Click Remediate to update the ESXi 6.5 to 6.7 1 by 1. Ingrone the warning / error message as we are doing the upgrade for the nexted ESXi VM

  1. The ESXi host will be entering Maintenance Mode, and upgrade to 6.7U1 automatically. Repeat the steps 5 for each host to upgrade all hosts to 6.7U1

Upgrade VSAN Disks from version 5 to version 7

  1. Go to Cluster – Configure – vSAN – Disk Management, and click on PRE-CHECK UPGRADE

  1. Ensure that there is no error in PRE-CHECK, and click UPGRADE. Select Allow Reduced Reducndancy

  1. All Disks had been upgraded to Version 7 successfully

We had completed to upgrade VSAN 6.6 to 6.7U1 successfully.
